Monochromia Starfish

There are plenty of stories from East African featuring the deadly but beautiful sea sirens. Growing up, I often heard tales of a particularly enchanting sea woman said to dwell along the Mombasa coast, her song so haunting it lured unsuspecting men to their watery graves beneath the moonlit waves. Drawing from these stories I hope to preserve a fragment of that mythical, spiritual side of Swahili culture. A world where the sea breathes with secrets, and every tide carries echoes of the unseen.
