Fire Spirit Original Acrylic Painting

Inspired by heat mapping imagery, this work explores the idea of energy made visible by mapping emotion, presence, and spirit through colour. Using this visual language, I set out to create beings drawn from ancient African folklore. The heat map aesthetic allows them to feel alive, almost vibrating with internal energy. Here I am taking traditional narratives and reinterpreting them through a contemporary visual lens. It becomes a way of honouring folklore while also reimagining it, allowing these ancient, often unseen beings to exist in a modern, expressive form.
