Paintings

My paintings are shaped by the worlds I have lived between - Tanzania and the United Kingdom - and by the colours, textures, and cultural rhythms that exist within that space.

Growing up in Dar es Salaam, I was surrounded by bold textiles, tropical light, expressive faces, and strong matriarchal figures who held families and communities together. I am fascinated by the quiet narratives that live within a face: resilience, tension, pride, vulnerability, and strength. Through colour and expression, I try to create a moment where the viewer feels they are meeting someone - not just looking at a painting.
